PET/CT

In conjunction with MIT (Molecular Imaging Technologies) PET, we operate a full-time, fixed 16-slice PET/CT scanner. This state-of-the-art equipment (combining PET scan with CT scan) allows our physicians to more effectively diagnose, stage and monitor therapy for a variety of cancers and to diagnose multiple neurologic and cardiac diseases.

Detecting Cancers Earlier

Our board-certified radiologists perform the PET/CT interpretations. The PET/CT has the ability to combine the anatomic strength of CT with the physiologic changes detected by PET. This can lead to earlier detection of cancers. PET/CT is the most sensitive tool available. Combining two imaging technologies, PET/CT allows oncologists to precisely pinpoint sites of cancer within the body. When this information is used in radiation therapy treatment planning, it enables the sparing of normal tissue.
